Working as an artist at a convention is completely and utterly amazing. I've only done a few stalls so don't have the largest pool of experience to draw from, but comparing normal markets and craft fairs to a con? No contest. So informal and friendly and incredible! I came home both nights exhausted, aching, hungry but giddy with happiness. Hello all! Well I completed my first commission recently, so I am tentatively calling myself a 'professional artist'. I'll probably never really be convinced of it until I'm earning a proper wage from my paintings and works, but hopefully in a couple years... Anyway, just some little updates. I've attended a few stalls here and there and have been able to sell paintings! I also branched out into bookmarks and coasters (following a handy dandy little tutorial) which have also been selling. So... Been a bit of a while since my last journal entry. Just a bit. Basically, University didn't work out for me. It was tiring, stressful and incredibly hard. I got close to being depressed, had some very worryingly low moments and just didn't enjoy it. I did, however, make some truly marvellous friends, so in that respect, it was worth it. University simply isn't for everyone, as I discovered, so I had to think long and hard about my other options. I want to be an artist. Not a 'does it on the side for a hobby', but also not a 'Big shot artist who rakes in millions'. What I want is to make a living. A modest wage, enough to support my
